Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC) is a statutory body constituted by the Government of Gujarat under the Pharmacy Act of 1948. Consisting of six members elected by registered pharmacists amongst themselves, five members nominated by The Government of Gujarat, three Ex-Officio members, and one member elected by Gujarat Medical Council.

How to Register Gujarat State Pharmacy Council?
A person who has attained the age of eighteen years and successfully completed a Diploma, Degree, Pharm D / Pharm D (PB) Course in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India during the completion of degree/diploma will be entitled to have his/her name entered as a pharmacist on the register of the Council and is subject to he/she resides or carries on the business or profession of pharmacy in the State of Gujarat. The candidate will have to come personally to the pharmacy council with all original documents as mentioned below and certified true copies at the pharmacy council office for registration.

1. In case of any change in the name of the applicant (any of the following documents) – (a) Marriage certificate (In the case of the married female candidate) or (b) A copy of gazette notification (in all other cases)
2. Proof of Birth Date & Birth Place (School / College leaving certificate / S.S.C. Board certificate or Birth Certificate from a competent authority)
3. Proof of residence in Gujarat (Anyone – (a) Electric or telephone bill in the name of the parent of the candidate / (b) L.I.C. policy of the candidate / (c) Identity card of the candidate Issued by the Election Commission / (d) Tax Bill from the relevant authority of panchayat or Nagarpalika or Municipal corporation / (e) Passport of the candidate
4. Aadhar Card
5. S.S.C. / H.S.C. Board Marks-sheet and certificates on the basis of which admission to D.Pharm / B.Pharm obtained
6. College bonafide / Course Completion Certificate with a period of study
7. College Leaving/Transfer Certificate mentioning the date of admission and period of completion of studies in pharmacy (In the case of an applicant who has passed Diploma/Degree in pharmacy examination from an institution of other than Gujarat State).
8. Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy Mark – sheet of all years
9. Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy Certificate obtained from relevant University/Board of examination OR Provisional Certificate of the University/Board
10. Practical Training Completion Certificate duly completed Section I-V with seal and signature of the principal of the concerned institute in Section-V of the Practical Training contract form
11. Proof of Employment/Business of the candidate as mentioned under column No.7(a) & (b) in Form-G. ((a) Employer’s Certificate mentioning period of service, designation, headquarters, Salary, etc. from relevant Firm/Company/Institution mentioning Drugs Licence Nos, if any; or (b) In case of self-employed persons, A self-declaration on the letter pad of the relevant Firm/Company, etc. mentioning Drug License Nos. if any; or (c) (In the case of an unemployed person) Undertaking for further studies, if applicable (Annexure-A) or A self-declaration of non-practicing (Annexure-B).

Fees For Application?
Fees for Fresh Registration (Colleges of Gujarat ) is Rs. 2000/-.
Fees for Fresh Registration (Colleges from Outside Gujarat) is Rs. 5000/-.
Fees for Transfer of Registration from outside Gujarat is Rs. 5000/-.
If registration is made after 1 year of passing then late charges of Rs. 100/- is to be paid along with registration fees

Renew Application for Gujarat State Pharmacy Council
The Registered Pharmacist has to renew his/her Registration every year by paying Rs. 100/- (Rupees Hundred Only) (including administrative charges) or every five years by paying Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) (including administrative charges) between 1st January to 31st March of the concerned year. The above amount should be paid by Cash or Crossed Demand Draft in favor of “Gujarat State Pharmacy Council” drawn on State Bank of India, Ahmedabad or any Nationalised Bank payable at Ahmedabad along with following documents:-

Re-Entry Application At Gujarat State Pharmacy Council
A Registered Pharmacist who fails to renew his/her registration before 31 st March of the concerned year, the name of such pharmacist is removed from the Register of Pharmacists in accordance to the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and the rules thereunder. If the pharmacist desires to re-enter his/her name in the Register, he/she has to apply in a prescribed Form-L along with documents and prescribed fees.

Fees For Application
1. 150/- Rs. : For restoration of a name of a person to the Register under Section-34 of the Pharmacy Act in addition to payment of Renewal fees for the year, or years during which the name remained removed at the rate prevailing in the respective year or years.
2. 25 Rs. For Form Fee
3. Applicable fees for a number of years lapsed after removal of name from the register.
Rs. 50/- For Convenience Charge
100/- Rs per year after the year 2021 and 10/- Rs per year up to 2000. (So for example, if registration expire on 31 December 2010 and Re-Entry application is made in 2017, then total fees = 25 + 150 + (100 x 7) + 50 = 925/- Rs. The certificate is then valid up to 31 Dec 2017 after successful Re-Entry.

Procedure for acquiring Good Standing Certificate or Other Certificate Required to be produced in a Foreign Country:-
A Registered Pharmacist who has migrated/ is intending to migrate to a foreign country with a purpose to obtain a Pharmacy licensure / Registration to practice as a pharmacist in the concerned country or desires to get admission to a pharmacy institution in such country and he/she is in need of Good Standing Certificate or any such certificate from Gujarat State Pharmacy Council to produce before the concerned authority he/she should submit an application in the prescribed form with documents mentioned therein and Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only).

Refresher courses are available for registered pharmacists. Practicing pharmacy is a very complex profession with the requirement of updated knowledge on new and banned drugs, drug interactions, and side effects. The pharmacist plays an important role in community health care and providing information on medications to patients.
To help pharmacists to acquire knowledge of recent trends, Gujarat State Pharmacy Council has started Refresher Courses, which are mandatory for all registered pharmacists and are required for renewal of existing registration.
Currently, the refresher courses are being conducted at various pharmacy colleges with the association and grant of Gujarat State Pharmacy Council. The institute organizes two-day refresher courses at various locations across Gujarat to facilitate the participation of pharmacists and knowledge enhancement.
An objective test will be conducted at the end of the two-day refresher course training program and the participants will be given a certificate for attending Refresher Course from GSPC. A course certificate will be given only to those participants whose evaluation and feedback reports are received from the institute and who have successfully completed the course and objective tests with minimum passing criteria.
